USS Ronald Reagan Arrives in Santa Barbara

The USS Ronald Reagan arrived in Santa Barbara on Friday morning for a four-day visit.

The nuclear-powered warship carries 3.200 sailors and holds 90 fixed wing and helicopters. The massive carrier is one of the largest in the world. It’s a Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier based out of San Diego that cost $4.5 billion to make. The Reagan will be headed to Japan after its stop in Santa Barbara.

Sailors will be coming ashore and spending time in the Santa Barbara area. Family members are in town to spend time with their loved ones.

Free tours will be offered to community members but the Navy League says reservations are already booked.
