Man Arrested on Suspicion of Selling Marijuana

Just after midnight on Sunday an Officer from the University of California, Santa Barbara Police Department, was flagged down by a community member who reported a battery that just occurred on the 6700 block of Del Playa Drive.

The witness indicated that 22-year-old Donovan Christensen had just pushed someone and was believed to be very intoxicated.

The witness pointed out Christensen, who was still in the area. During the contact with Christensen, the officer determined that he was intoxicated to the point where he could not take care of himself and Christensen was arrested and booked into jail for public intoxication.

When the officer searched Christensen, he discovered evidence which indicated that the suspect was also selling drugs out of his residence located on the 6500 block of Segovia Road. A search warrant was written, approved, and executed on Christensen’s residence.

University Police Officers discovered over 14 pounds of processed marijuana and totaling over $14,000.

Christensen was re-booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail for the charges of Marijuana for sales and transporting Marijuana for sales.
