Wrong Way Driver Sends Three People to the Hospital

Three people are recovering from moderate injuries following an accident involving a wrong way driver.

Santa Barbara City Fire Department officials said the crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. Friday on the northbound Highway 101 south of the Mission Street off-ramp. Four cars were involved and three drivers had to be extricated from their cars.

They were the only ones inside their vehicles. The fourth car had minor damage and that driver was not hurt.

Investigators said northbound traffic was reduced to one lane. All three people hurt were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
