Morning Weather Anchor – MMJ
Make your mark at the fastest growing morning newscast on the California Coast! KEYT NewsChannel 3 is seeking a morning meteorologist/weathercaster who will also work as an MMJ on general assignment stories. The morning team here is freshly revamped and is making strong gains in the ratings, winning over the audience with a high-energy, fast-paced program that is informative, full of personality and utilizes every piece of available technology to engage the viewer. This means you’ll be forecasting weather and engaging the audience on air, online and through social media platforms.
Our coverage area spans San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties with several microclimates. You won’t ever be bored here! We’re an HD facility with the best looking weather product and equipment in the market.
After the morning show, you’ll take state-of-the-art Sony HD field gear out to shoot and report on interesting and dynamic stories to air on later broadcasts. This is a big job and we’re looking for someone who has the drive, the personality, the enthusiasm and a good eye for storytelling- at the chromakey, online, and in the field!
Two years of on-air weather casting experience at a commercial television station is mandatory. Meteorologist strongly preferred. Good field video storytelling and editing skills are also essential to succeed in this position.
