UPDATE: Police Make Four Arrests After Gang Fight

Santa Barbara Police have arrested two adults and two juveniles after a gang fight Thursday night on Anapamu and San Pascual streets. A 17-year-old was stabbed several times and remains hospitalized in serious condition.

A four-year-old boy, Joshua Pulido, hit by a suspected getaway car several blocks away was not hurt, but did get checked out by a doctor at Cottage Hospital.

His father, Frank said, “my wife was the most hysterical one. She was the one who was furious. She wanted to go out there and beat them to hell. We took him (Joshua) to the hospital, The doctor said he is perfectly fine and doing well”

Pulido said he had no idea why the suspects turned down the driveway of his condo complex as an escape route from a fight so many blocks away. He had never seen them before.

Santa Barbara Police say those arrested will be facing several charges including attempted murder, felony hit and run, and resisting arrest.

Investigators say several people were involved in the street brawl. It’s unknown what triggered the fight.

Many residents said while the fight was disturbing, the neighborhood is much safer than 10 years ago.

“I know all these neighbors, people that own these properties. They know me. If anyone has a problem they call and say we got a trash problem. We’ve got too many cars or whatever,” said Mike Szymanski a property owner with several rentals. “It’s better today than it was ten years ago. Definitely. This side of Anapamu.”

Police have not released the names of those involved at this time.
