Foodbank of Santa Barbara County offers summer lunch program for kids

The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County kicked off its summer lunch program for kids on Friday.

The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County says during the school year, thousands of kids get free and reduced lunches, but during the summer, many of those kids don’t get a nutritious lunch. So the food bank started Picnic in the Park.

The ten week program hands out free meals to any child under the age of 18. Kids can pick up the food Monday through Friday at 17-locations throughout the county.
