Jury convicts gang members in murder of George Ied
Two alleged gang members were convicted Friday of second-degree murder for the 2010 slaying of George Ied.
Michael Cardenas and Ismael Parra were found guilty of second-degree murder. Jurors were deadlocked on the charges against Miguel Parra and a mistrial was declared.
Officials say these three men and a fourth, Steve Santana, attacked and killed Ied as he was walking home on Punta Gorda Street in Santa Barbara. Santana pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and testified against the others.
Cardenas and Ismael Parra will be sentenced April 16.Miguel Parra will be back in court for further proceedings.
