Beach cleanup taking place at Haskell’s Beach
GOLETA, Calif. -- Beach clean up is underway at Haskell's Beach in Goleta.
The City of Goleta hired a contractor to remove residual waste inside a pipe protruding from the bluffs east of the Ritz-Carlton Bacara.
They will also cut the pipe back to the bluff face and add a grate to the end of the cut-back pipe to restrict access inside pipe in the future.
The field work will take one to three days depending on the amount of fluid in the pipe.
Environmental monitors will be on site during the clean up.
