Two Marines from Santa Barbara return home from Afghanistan
Two Marines from Santa Barbara are back home after serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
The men arrived at the Santa Barbara Airport on Saturday night. Family and friends were waiting for Lance Corporals David Botello and Jose Garcia.
Botello graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in 2007. Garcia graduated from Lompoc High School in 2010.
Both men served as tankers in dangerous operations in Afghanistan. In one instance, Garcia was caught in a mortar attack.
Both men say the time spent overseas was a life changing experience.
