Resolution Run Kicks Off 2013

SANTA BARBARA — Hundreds of people got off on the right foot to kick off 2013. The New Year’s Resolution Day Run sponsored by the Santa Barbara Athletic Association, drew around 400 people to Leadbetter Beach on Tuesday morning. This is the 34th year of the January 1 race where anyone can participate no matter how fast or slow the pace. “It draws a pretty big crowd for a race that doesn’t give prices for how fast you run,” said run founder John Brennand. Participants could chose between the 5K and 10K runs and some even opted for both. If you’re starting your resolution to get fit a little later than the New Year’s Day runners, the next run is on February 3, 2013 at Stow Grove Park in Goleta.
