Santa Barbara County Health: Those in need of COVID-19 vaccine in Guadalupe encouraged to attend upcoming clinic
Guadalupe, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Public Health is hosting a vaccine clinic targeting patients age 12 and up in Guadalupe this week.
Health experts say very few people have signed up. But if you need an appointment, they say it’s not too late.
City leaders in Guadalupe are working hard to make sure their community stays safe during the pandemic.
"It’s very important to us we had a city take this job eradicating this horrible disease and so we take it very seriously and want to do everything we can to reach out to those in need of COVID shots," said administrator Todd Bodem of the City of Guadalupe.
"We’re going to be giving vaccinations for anybody 12 and older ... we’re hoping to vaccinate a lot of junior high and high school students in Guadalupe," said manager Jan Koegler of the Santa Barbara County Public Health.
"We are concerned many of our vaccination clinics don’t have as many people as they did before but it’s just as important now to get vaccinated as it was two months ago," said Koegloer.
Especially for kids, the county says, as they begin to participate in more activities.
The clinic will take place at Mary Buren Elementary School from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. this Thursday and Friday.
