Chumash Casino Resort plans to stay open
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Chumash Casino Resort will continue to operate during the Regional Stay-at-Home order.
Tribal government operations are recognized by the Federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and are included in the Governmental Facilities Sector, one of the 16 sectors deemed essential.
The resort says it will work under strict safety measures that abide by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines. In addition, the resort will continue to work with the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department.
The resort has created its own safety program, called Safe + Well. It includes measures like temperature checks, face mask requirements, limited guest capacity and physical distancing.
Currently, two employees are recovering at home after testing positive for COVID-19. Both were exposed to the virus outside of the facility.
