Election officials encourage recycling campaign signs
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Days after Election Day 2020, not all elections are known. But, since voting is over, city officials are reminding candidates they have ten days to remove their signs.
Santa Barbara city officials said starting Monday they will start removing signs in public right aways and dangerous places. They will do the same starting November 14 in other public places.
The Santa Barbara Democrat headquarters officials said they plan to recycle as many signs as possible. They also are considering planting extra trees to try to off-set the amount of paper needed to make the signs. While the Santa Barbara Republic headquarter officials are encouraging candidates to save their signs for future years and campaigns.
