Rollover crash off HWY 101 at Summerland leaves two injured
SUMMERLAND, Calif. - Firefighters responded to a rollover crash off Highway 101 at Summerland that left at least two injured Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 7:57 a.m. The vehicle reportedly veered off the southbound side of the 101 and rolled down an embankment.
No extrication was needed. Carpinteria Summerland firefighters implemented a rope system to help carry the victims back up the embankment.
Four people were involved in the crash, however, only two were transported by ambulance to the hospital for moderate injuries.
Train service was temporarily stopped during the incident as the car landed next to the railroad tracks. Trains have since resumed normal service.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
