Sinkhole repair causes traffic delays on Highway 101 near Montecito

MONTECITO, Calif. - A sinkhole on Highway 101 caused traffic slowdowns as crews worked to repair the damaged roadway.

It happened in the right lane of northbound Highway 101 at Sheffield Drive near Summerland. The lane was temporarily closed for emergency sinkhole repair.

Caltrans District 5 is asking drivers to use caution and to expect delays during the repair.

California Highway Patrol said the lane will be closed until approximately 4 p.m. Thursday.
