SB County firefighters stop forward progress of 7-acre lightning fire at Hollister Ranch
HOLLISTER RANCH, Calif. - Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a vegetation fire that was caused by a lightning strike on Hollister Ranch Saturday morning.
County Fire received the call around 10:20 a.m. The blaze was located off Hollister Ranch Road just west of Cementerio, east of Concepcion.
Firefighters report the fire burned between seven and 10 acres by 1:15 p.m. Just after 2 p.m., County Fire reported that forward progress was stopped for all lightning-induced vegetation fires throughout the county, including this one.
Fixed-wing tankers and helicopters are helping to battle the burns from the air.
County Fire said crews will remain on scene until all fires are completely mopped up.
No injuries were reported in connection to this incident. One structure was threatened by the fire, however, it did not sustain any damage.
The cause is being investigated further.
