COVID-19: Shoppers caught off-guard as Santa Maria Town Center Mall closes doors
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Just six weeks after reopening, the Santa Maria Town Center Mall is closed again.
"It's just like shocking to me," said shopper Rodrigo Garcia.
Throughout the day, customers rushed to the doors to go shopping.
But managers with the mall are following a state order to help slow the spread of the coronavirus.
“We are always Committed to following any mandate in our state keeping our community and our shoppers safe," said Kristen LaGrange with the Santa Maria Town Center Mall.
While the mall remains closed to the public, shoppers can still go shopping through curbside pickup.
“Curbside is available immediately so keep an eye on our website at Santa MariaTownCenter.com. We will have daily updates about who is offering this service and where to pick up at,” said LaGrange.
Most of the customers who showed up Tuesday say they hope the mall will reopen sooner than later.
