Hundreds gather for peaceful protest in San Luis Obispo
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Hundreds of people surrounded the Gazebo at Mitchell park making their voices heard.
The Act Now for Justice rally had people from all walks of life asking to end police brutality.
"Horrified horrified that you know it’s still going on horrified that you know you start to lose track of how many names how many individuals," said participant Amar Sohr.
Some say they were surprised to see so many attending this rally organized by R.A.C.E Matters.
While participants spoke passionately about the hope for violence to end, they were also pleased that this rally was so peaceful.
"I’m happy that we were able to stand together united and not you know create more conflict but I know that there’s anger out there too that’s totally valid and people feel frustrated beyond knowing how to act," said participant Betsi Ashby.
After George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis, some demonstrators had trouble describing what their Hope is for the future.
"I hope you know for the best for the future but I I don’t know how to get there," said Sohr.
The rally lasted about an hour.
