Solvang sees a return of business since closing many stores for the pandemic
SOLVANG, Calif. - The sidewalks of Solvang were bustling Saturday morning for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Many local stores and restaurants have recently reopened with some modifications to allow for physical distancing.
Most of the people seen strolling through the town were wearing face coverings or masks.
Many were physical distancing, but there were some instances when people would stop in the middle of the sidewalk, making it impossible for others to get around at a safe distance without walking into the street.
The City of Solvang relies heavily on tourism and is projecting a multi-million dollar loss because of this health emergency, so having visitors return is a welcome sight for business owners.
