Santa Maria Police looking for suspect in armed robbery

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Santa Maria Police Department is looking for a suspect in an armed robbery on Wednesday.

On Friday around 3:52 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of South Broadway to a report of a robbery.

At arrival, officers contacted the victim who told officers that he was approached by a male suspect who drew a handgun from his waistband, pointed it at the victim and demanded money.

After robbing the victim, the suspect fled on foot.

The victim was not injured.

The suspect is described to be a Hispanic male, last seen wearing dark pants, blue and red jacket, and a camouflage ball cap.

The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact the Santa Maria Police Department Detective Bureau.
