SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Farmacy of Santa Barbara raised $6,500 for Santa Barbara County Freedom Warming Centers.

The Farmacy launched a give-back program, which redirected 5 percent of select sales to the centers, according to the Farmacy.

Freedom Warming Centers are open when the forecast calls for rain or when temperatures fall below 35 degrees. They are in Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Goleta, Lompoc and Santa Maria.

The Farmacy's give-back program was done in partnership with CARP Growers member farms.

"I consider this historic. The legal cannabis industry, and those who participate in it, showed we are exactly where we need to be, in a position to give back to our communities," said Graham Farrar, owner of The Farmacy of Santa Barbara.

The Farmacy said the $6,500 will cover 300 individual overnight stays. It funds overnight staffing, supplies and meals.
