Los Angeles man arrested after stabbing a man at Ventura County campsite over the weekend

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. – A man was hospitalized with a stab wound and another man was arrested after a altercation at a campsite at Jackson Camp in the unincorporated area of Santa Paula Sunday.
On July 5, just before midnight, dispatchers received a 911 text reporting a stabbing at Jackson Camp which is about two miles past the Punch Bowls in unincorporated Santa Paula stated a press release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office Monday.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, due to the remote and rugged terrain, nighttime conditions of the call, and the seriousness of the incident, an Aviation Unit was dispatched carrying a flight medic from the Ventura County Fire Department and ground resources staged at Thomas Aquinas College while waiting for air transport to the scene.
Around 1:30 a.m. on July 6, detectives arrived at Jackson Camp and located a 35-year-old Los Angeles man who was suspected of stabbing a 27-year-old Los Angeles man who was located shortly after and airlifted to Ventura County Medical Center by a rescue helicopter with a single stab wound to his chest detailed the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
A preliminary investigation showed that the 35-year-old man had been involved in an altercation with another camper before stabbing the 27-year-old man with a knife shared the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
The 35-year-old was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and he was airlifted to the staging area, medically evaluated at Santa Paula Hospital, and was booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility explained the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
The man later posted his bail and was released added the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
