Crews on scene of car fire in Ojai Saturday morning

OJAI, Calif. – Crews were on scene of an electric car fire just after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the 11000 block of Ventura Ave. in Ojai, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

Responders advised waiting for the battery to burn itself out as immediate extinguishment can cause more problems, detailed the VCFD.

A shelter-in-place order was lifted at 8:45 p.m. Saturday for residents on the southside of Cruzero Street from Baldwin Road to Loma Drive and for residents on the north side of Orchard Drive from West Villanova road to Orchard Drive.

Ventura Avenue was also closed in both directions until the time listed above between West Villanova Drive and Loma Drive.
