Homeless encampment fire shuts down NB 101 offramp at Hot Springs Road

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- A small fire has been put out along the offramp at Hot Springs Road near Cabrillo Blvd. in Santa Barbara.

The California Highway Patrol reported the fire around 5 a.m. Wednesday. The northbound offramp was closed while Santa Barbara City firefighter responded to the scene.

It's not known what started the fire. But firefighters believe the area is part of a homeless encampment along the freeway.

All on and off ramps are now back open.
