Hiker in San Luis Obispo rescued, hospitalized
SAN LUIS OBIPSO, Calif. — A person hiking amid the high heat was rescued and hospitalized Friday afternoon, according to Cal Fire SLO.
Fire crews were called to the heat related emergency on the hillside of Bowden Ranch Trail off of Lizzie Street.
The patient was airlifted by the Santa Barbara County Fire Copter 954 and was transported to Sierra Vista Hospital.
San Luis Obispo City Fire Department also assisted in the rescue.
Cal Fire want to remind hikers to use caution during outdoor activities amid the heatwave.
