Fire teams extinguish 5.4-acre vegetation fire east of Paso Robles Wednesday

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. – Fire crews responded to a 5.4-acre vegetation fire near the 6000 block of Stoney Place east of Paso Robles Wednesday.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, forward progress of the flames was stopped around 2 p.m. and the previous risk to nearby structures was mitigated.

Part of the fire response was the evacuation of a 25-year-old tortoise named Orion who is pictured below safe and unharmed by Wednesday's fire shared the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department.
