Dollar Tree moving into Goleta

The Dollar Tree store is ready for bargain hunters in Goleta.

It has begun the process of moving into the vacant site at 175 N. Fairview Ave. next to Starbucks in the Fairview shopping center.

This will be the first Dollar Tree store in the Goleta/Santa Barbara area.

The company is based in Virginia and also owns Family Dollar, which is going through changes that will result in the reported closure of 390 stores.

Dollar Tree is also considering starting to charge more than a dollar for some items.

The opening date for the Goleta store has not been announced.
