Grace Brethren tops Bishop Diego in Camino League opener

Grace Brethren built an early lead and held on for a 42-21 victory over Bishop Diego at Santa Barbara City College Saturday night in the Camino League opener for both teams.

The Lancers improved to 5-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play. It was the Lancers’ highest-scoring performance since scoring 52 points at Granada Hills Charter on Aug. 24.

The Cardinals gave up 42 points for the second straight week and dropped their second straight game. Bishop is now 3-4 on the year and 0-1 in league play.

Grace Brethren plays at Moorpark next week, while Bishop Diego visits Camarillo.
