SANTA MARIA, Calif. - California Highway Patrol and Santa Barbara County Fire responded to a car fire on Francine Lane west of Bradley Road in Santa Maria.

The driver told officers that as soon as they realized something was wrong with the car, they pulled over.

Once the vehicle came to a stop, it began smoking and eventually went up in flames.

SB County firefighters responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.

Fortunately, the driver and passengers got out of the car without injury.
