Highway 101 on-ramp closed at Turnpike due to sinkhole in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Cal Trans has closed the on-ramp at Turnpike on Highway 101 due to a sinkhole in Santa Barbara on Friday afternoon.

The southbound Highway 101 on-ramp is closed from Turnpike Road in Santa Barbara due to a large sinkhole between the ramp and freeway.

An emergency contract is underway to assess the damage and repair.

Cal Trans advise drivers to use Patterson Avenue or State Street ramp as other access.

Cal Trans says motorists can expect delays not to exceed 10 minutes.
