Bicyclist seriously injured after hit and run in Ventura County

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - California Highway Patrol in Ventura County reported a bicyclist sustained serious injuries after a hit and run crash Saturday evening.

Around 8:40 p.m., CHP responded to reports of a hit and run that occurred on Harbor Boulevard north of Fifth Street.

CHP said the uknown driver of a suspected black Subaru collided with a bicyclist that was riding along the right should of Harbor Boulevard. Officers said evidence found at the scene is what leads them to believe the car responsible was a black Subaru.

After the crash, CHP said the vehicle fled the scene.

Ventura County Fire personnel also responded to the scene and transported the bicyclist to Ventura County Medical Center for the treatment of their serious injuries.

The victim is described as a 33-year-old transient.
