Ventura County COVID-19 cases now 1,078, 33 deaths

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - There are now 1,078 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ventura County, including 33 deaths.

The county is releasing updated numbers every weekday.

234 people are under active quarantine, and 20 people are currently hospitalized, 12 of which are in the ICU. 796 people are considered to be recovered.

More than 23,800 people have been tested.

The majority of all deaths have occurred in people 70 or older who had comorbidity conditions. A 37-year-old man who died from a drug overdose, tested positive for COVID-19. His diagnosis was believed to have contributed to his death.
