American Heart Association empower young women to explore careers in STEM
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. -- The American Health Association held its first-ever STEM Goes Red event on Wednesday at Cal Lutheran University.
The organization said the event was attended by about 50 Ventura County female high school students.
The event was to empower young women to take control of their health and to consider STEM careers.
The event included a morning of speed mentoring with female professionals working in STEM, lunch with female college students in STEM majors and a panel discussion from some of the most reputable STEM companies throughout the county on career pathways.
The event was sponsored by Corwin, a SAGE Publishing Company.
