Rockslide on Highway 1 in Big Sur

BIG SUR, Calif. - Caltrans District 5 announced that a moderate rock slide occurred on Highway 1 near Limekiln State Park Saturday morning.

The alert was posted on Caltrans' Twitter around 11:45 a.m.

The slide happened on Highway 1 near Limekiln Creek.

Caltrans said they are keeping the road open with one-way traffic control so drive carefully and expect traffic.

Caltrans crews are currently working to clear the debris. It is unclear when the road will be fully cleared.
