Paraglider rescued after fall in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- A paraglider was rescued on Friday afternoon after falling in Santa Barbara.

On Friday at around 3:30 p.m., Santa Barbara City Fire responded to reports of a fallen paraglider in the Douglas Family Preserve.

First responders arrived to find a woman who had fallen from paragliding after losing wind.

They performed a low angle rescue and were able to bring her up.

Fire officials say she fell about 20 to 30 feet.

Her injuries are unknown but she was transported to Cottage Hospital for further observation.
