Two injured hikers rescued in separate incidents on Hot Springs Canyon Trail near Montecito
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue carried two injured hikers back to safety from Hot Springs Canyon Trail Saturday during separate incidents.
The first occurred around 11:30 a.m. Crews with Montecito Fire and AMR as well as Sheriff's helicopter 3 responded to reports of a hiker who fell while on the trail.
The hiker was found 15 minutes down the trail suffering from a wound to the head. Fire paramedics immediately began providing medical aid and determined the hiker could be carried to an ambulance by ground personnel. Copter 3 was then released from the scene.
County Search and Rescue teams responded and carried the hiker in a basket down the trail into the care of AMR personnel. The hiker was then transported to the hospital.
The second incident occurred around 4 p.m. Montecito Fire, County Fire and County Search and Rescue responded to a woman who had fallen and hurt her ankle.
Crews located her about 30 feet away from the location of the morning incident and carried her to an ambulance.
Trail Rescue: At approx. 4pm today, Montecito FFs responded to an injured hiker on Hot Springs Trail (1200 E Mountain Dr). The patient, a woman, fell from standing & injured her leg. Transported via AMR for treatment of injuries. More photos to follow pic.twitter.com/QaUuSYJV8E

She was then transported to the hospital for treatment.
