Natural gas leak forces businesses to evacuate in Goleta
GOLETA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to reports of a natural gas leak by the CVS Pharmacy store in the area of Calle Real and Encina lane.
Firefighters responded to the call around 11:09 p.m.
The first engine on scene reported a heavy smell of natural gas. It was not immediately clear where the source of the smell was, but there was construction happening in the area.
There is a hard street closure on Calle Real between Kingston avenue and Encina lane.
No injuries were immediately reported, and utility companies were called in to stop the flow of natural gas.
