Water main break floods Santa Barbara street with mud, debris

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A water main break has flooded a street in Santa Barbara with mud and debris, Thursday morning.

The break was first noticed around 4:30 a.m. when a large amount of water was reported on Ladrea Street. The break was located on McKinley Elementary School property, which is on a hill above Ladera Street.

Santa Barbara police, fire and public works crews have responded to the area and turned off the water. Clean-up is now underway on Ladera Street. Condos located below the hill where the break happened are being looked at for safety.
