ORCUTT, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a structure fire in a restaurant in Orcutt on Saturday.

The fire started around 12:04 p.m. at the Far Western Tavern on 300 East Clark Ave.

Santa Barbara County Fire responded with a full structure response which included four engines and a battalion chief.

The first arriving engine did not see signs of a fire initially, so they investigated and found that a fire was burning within the hood system of the kitchen area. The fire appeared to have started in the hood pit.

Fortunately, the hood system activated and extinguished the fire. The fire was isolated to the system.

County Fire engines stayed on the scene to make sure all other parts of the building were safe from the fire before clearing.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
