Train hits pedestrian near Carpinteria

CARPINTERIA, Calif. -- A person near the train tracks was hit by a train traveling near Padaro and Santa Claus Lane on Tuesday.

The person was taken to the hospital by paramedics with non-life threatening injuries, according to Raquel Zick from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called to the incident around 6:18 p.m.
