SLO firefighters extinguish stove fire in Mustang Village Apartments
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The San Luis Obispo Fire Department responded to a call about a structure fire at the Mustang Village Apartments around 10 a.m. Sunday morning.
Firefighters arrived at Mustang Village Suite 106 and found a stove fire that was already out. The apartment was filled with heavy smoke, however.
Fire crews set up a ventilation fan to help ventilate the building so that the residents could safety re-enter. There was no structural damage to the unit and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
Firefighters said there was one Cal Poly student living in the unit, but the student was not displaced by the fire. No other residents were displaced either.
At 10:26 a.m., fire units said they turned the apartment back over to the Mustang Valley maintenance supervisor and the residents of the unit.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
