TEMPLETON, Calif. - Pacific Gas and Electric Company gave us an update on the cause of the outage in Templeton from Saturday night as well as when customers had their power restored.

PG&E said that they were doing some planned maintenance on a bank at their Templeton substation when, at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night, they lost another bank.

This resulted in a voltage problem that caused an outage affecting about 18,750 customers in the Templeton and Atascadero areas.

PG&E said they have been working to restore power to customers through the night and early morning as quickly as it was safe to do so.

Around 7 a.m. Sunday morning, PG&E said power was fully restored to all of the affected customers.

PG&E said they regret the inconvenience this caused their customers. They are investigating the cause of the equipment issue.
