San Luis Obispo Supervisor appoints new Civil Service Commissioner

Supervisor Adam Hill Appoints Erica Flores Baltodano to the Civil Service Commission (County of San Luis Obispo).

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A new District 3 Civil Service Commissioner in San Luis Obispo County was appointed on Tuesday morning.

San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Adam Hill announced Erica Flores Baltodano will be the next District 3 Civil Service Commissioner.

Supervisor Hill said the following in the announcement:

"Erica is a strong, skilled professional that brings knowledge and experience- I have no doubt she will be an excellent addition to the commission."

Previous Civil Service Commissioners were Erica Stewart and Betsey Nash.

Baltonado has 20 years of experience as an attorney, policy advocate, professor and writer in the areas of employment law, environmental justice, civil rights and non-profit/small business management.

Baltonado has a degree in Sociology and Public Policy from UCLA and earned her law degree from UC Berkeley School of Law.

Currently, Baltonado advises employees and small businesses in the private sector as President of The Baltonado Firm.

She is a faculty member at San Luis Obispo College of Law where she teaches Constitutional Law, the President of the Board of Directors of San Luis Obispo Legal Assistance foundation -- a foundation that provides free legal services to SLO County seniors, veterans and others in need.

She is also the founding member of the San Luis Coastal Education Foundation.

She has received prestigious recognitions from the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of San Luis Obispo and the SLO County Commission on the Status of Women.

She currently lives in San Luis Obispo with her husband and two children.
