Brush fire breaks out near HWY 101 in Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Firefighters responded to a brush fire that broke out near the Westside in Santa Barbara Saturday evening.

City Fire crews received reports of the fire around 6:30 p.m.

The burn is located in the area of Walnut Avenue and West Anapamu Street near the railroad tracks next to Highway 101.

Crews are on scene now battling the fire. CHP said the fire appears to be burning in bushes near a possible homeless encampment.

The cause is under investigation.
