SLO County firefighters battle vegetation fire in Reservoir Canyon

Firefighters are hiking in Reservoir Canyon to make their way to a brush fire that broke out Saturday morning.

RESERVOIR CANYON, Calif. - San Luis Obispo City and County firefighters responded to a vegetation fire that flared up in Reservoir Canyon Saturday morning.

The fire is located off of Reservoir Canyon Road near the canyon trailhead and was reported around 10:49 a.m.

SLO City Fire said crews are hiking the area to access the fire. A CAL FIRE helicopter responded to the scene to assist with the attack.

This fire broke out alongside dozens of others across the Central Coast after lightning strikes littered the area.

The cause of this fire is under investigation.
