Joyful Cheers Fill State Street in Santa Barbara as Eagles Fans Celebrate Super Bowl Victory
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — Joyful cheers filled State Street as many chanted, “E-A-G-L-E-S!” as the National Football League crowned a new Super Bowl champion Sunday night.
Kansas City Chiefs fans walked out in silence, while others showed their frustration.
"Get your stuff together, we're tired of watching you lose," said Chiefs fan Evie Rusterberg. "You made it all the way to the Super Bowl for a reason—you’re supposed to show up and show out."
Many restaurants were packed with fans, whether they were supporting the Philadelphia Eagles or the Kansas City Chiefs. This time, Eagles fans had reason to celebrate after avenging their loss to the Chiefs two years ago.
The Super Bowl is big business for bars and restaurants, especially at this time of year.
"People come in around an hour and a half before the game," said Institution Ale Manager Anthony Marin. "(It was) pretty slow in the beginning, but we had a good turnout. It’s been a slow season for winter, but today, we had a lot of people come out for the football game."
Excitement peaked during the Super Bowl halftime show when Kendrick Lamar took the stage, bringing energy to the crowd.
“So excited. Love Kendrick Lamar—he's a great symbol for Los Angeles, and he brings great music,” said William Andrew.
When asked which team he was rooting for, his response was no surprise.
"It's gotta be the Eagles. The Eagles are the best team ever. They have great players. We got Barkley—he's a great guy. Just expecting great things today," Andrew said.
The Eagles dominated the game, showcasing a strong defense and an explosive offense that overwhelmed the Chiefs. Quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered a standout performance, leading his team to a decisive victory. Meanwhile, Lamar electrified the halftime show with a dynamic setlist featuring some of his biggest hits, earning praise from fans and critics alike.
