Man arrested for prowling in backyard, spraying Ventura resident with paint

VENTURA, Calif. - A man was arrested by Ventura police on Friday after he allegedly prowled in a resident's backyard and sprayed the owner with paint.

Around 9:21 p.m., Ventura officers responded to a call regarding a prowler at the 100 Block of S. Saticoy Avenue.

When officers arrived, the owner of the home attempted to confront the prowler. However, the prowler was reportedly holding a can of spray paint at the time and sprayed the resident in the face before running from the area.

Police gave chase and found the prowler nearby. He was arrested at the scene on charges for prowling and battery.
