Santa Barbara man arrested for warrants, domestic violence in Santa Barbara after pursuit

GOLETA, Calif. -- The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office arrested a wanted man Monday night after he led them on a pursuit.

Deputies were called to the 5800-block of Calle Real about 8:41 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious person, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities say they found the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for violation of probation.

When deputies contacted him while he was in his car, he sped away and led them on a chase. He got onto the 101 southbound and got off on Garden Street in Santa Barbara.

Deputies took him into custody in the 100-block of Garden Street.

Authorities say the man had been stalking someone at the Calle Real location and was involved in previous unreported incidents of domestic violence.
