ORCUTT, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of multiple individuals checking the door handles of vehicles and going through vehicles they found unlocked early Thursday morning.

Deputies arrived at the 700 block of Royal Terrace in Orcutt around 2:07 a.m. There they spotted someone getting into a blue Infinity QX60 that was reported as stolen from Arroyo Grande on Wednesday.

Deputies quickly arrested the underage person but continued searching the area for other suspects.

Deputies report that, while searching the Infinity, they found objects that were stolen from other vehicles in the area.

Just a minute later, deputies found a second underage person on Royal Terrace and arrested them.

Three more people were seen running from deputies in the area of Hummel Drive and Glen Cairon Drive.

The Sheriff's Office said deputies set up a perimeter around Hummel and Glen Cairon where they sent out a notification asking residents to stay inside their homes while they searched the area.

Santa Maria police, CHP officers and Sheriff's K9 units Duke and Thor responded to the area to help deputies locate the final suspects.

Finally, after a door-to-door search at 4:40 a.m., deputies found two more underage people and arrested them in the 600 block of Glen Cairon Drive.

The Sheriff's Office said all four arrested young people were released to their parents. A complaint was filed for each of them for vehicle theft, being in possession of a stolen vehicle, vehicle tampering, prowling, theft during a state of emergency, petty theft, conspiracy and violating nighttime curfew.

SB County Sheriff's said this investigation is ongoing. Deputies are looking for any unreported victims of these crimes as well as any video footage of the suspect or the vehicle involved in this incident.
