Karen Bright - Grover Beach City Council candidate

Grover Beach City Council

Facebook: Bright for Grover Beach City Council 2020
Why are you running for office?: There are three open seats this election season which is very unusual for our City. I am the only candidate with Council experience which will be extremely important to guide our City during these uncertain times.
What makes you qualified for the job?: I currently serve as Mayor Pro Tem, was elected to City Council in 2008 and 2012, served as a Grover Beach Planning Commissioner for three terms.
What are your two main priorities if you win?: Continue to work on economic development and revenue growth along with dealing with our housing and homelessness issues.
How will you interact with other governments?: I do that now by sitting on a number of regional boards i.e. SLO Council of Governments, SLO Regional Transit Authority, Zone Three Water Advisory Committee, Integrated Waste Management Authority, etc. I collaborate with the other Cities in our County and represent Grover Beach and the residents to ensure our voice is heard.
What are your plans to help overcome COVID-19?: Continue to assist our businesses in keeping their doors open and keeping our residents and visitors safe.
Which two issues are most important to you?: Moving our City forward within a balanced budget and keeping our City a safe place for families to live and prosper.
